Emergency services are at the scene of a reported serious incident in Rochdale this afternoon.
Police vehicles, ambulances and armed officers have been seen near Reservoir Street and Albert Royds Street in the Belfield area.
Witnesses reported a large emergency response in the Belfield area during the afternoon.
Details about the nature of the incident have not yet been confirmed.
Residents began sharing information about the response on social media after emergency vehicles were seen arriving in the area.
Greater Manchester Police have not yet released formal information about what prompted the response.

Police confirm a 19-year-old man has been taken to hospital with suspected life-changing leg injuries.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said:
"Officers are responding to reports of a shooting at around 3:20pm on Beswicke Royds Street, Rochdale.
"A 19-year-old man has been taken to hospital with suspected life-changing injuries to his leg.
"There are multiple road closures and an increased police presence in the area whilst we look to determine the full circumstances which led to this incident.
"Anyone with information or concerns is encouraged to speak to officers at the scene or call 101 quoting log 2097 of 05/03/2026.
"More information will be provided once we are able to do so."
