It’s believed that a man attempted to force entry to a business premises, armed with a weapon, believed to be a knife.
Thankfully no injuries were reported, but it's believed that around £200 pounds cash was taken.
No arrests have been made at this stage, but enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to the public who may have been in the area around 4pm yesterday to come forward.
We have released an image of a man we would like to speak to as we believe he may be able to assist our enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Harris from our Rochdale division said: “Thankfully no one sustained any injuries, but the emotional impact of crimes such as this can be considerable, and the staff have understandably been left extremely shaken up from this.
“We are following several lines of enquiry and would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in these pictures, or has any information, to get in touch with police immediately.
"We understand that the images are not of the best quality but we are hoping that by releasing them, it may jog memories of those who were in and around the area at the time of the incident.”
