The town of Bury proclaimed a new sovereign earlier today, King Charles III
The ceremony took place in Union Square opposite Bury Town Hall this afternoon.
Local MPs, Councillors, council officers and members of the clergy were invited to attend.
Mayor of Bury, Councillor Shaheena Haroon read the proclamation to those in attendance.
After the proclamation was read, Tottington Brass Band played the national anthem.
Deputy Lieutenant of Bury, Karan Lee closed the ceremony by calling three cheers for His Majesty The King.
Local proclamations have been taking place throughout today, following the initial ceremony in London yesterday.
