Officers seized 800 plants during the raid in Tameside at the weekend, as part of our commitment to tackling drugs supply in the area
The neighbourhood team conducted the warrant shortly after 7am on Sunday morning (April 13), at an address on Stockport Road, Mossley.
Upon entering the property, officers uncovered a cannabis farm, containing approximately 800 plants.
Multiple other drug paraphernalia, including growing equipment, was also discovered. The illicit goods were all subsequently seized.
In addition, electricity at the address was discovered to have been bypassed – with sparks seen coming off them as they were moved and made safe.
Enquiries are currently ongoing as part of the investigation into the discovery.
Inspector Rachel Eaton, from GMP’s Tameside district, said: “Cracking down on drugs supply across our district is a key aim of our local neighbourhood teams, and we are committed to removing these illicit products off our streets and punishing those responsible.
“This was a great find for the local team and I know that there will be plenty more positive results in the coming weeks and months.
“A lot of our work is dependent on the intelligence we get from our communities, and I would urge anyone with any relevant information to get in touch with us.”
