Final man jailed after GMP dismantle gang responsible for UK record breaking drugs and firearms operation.

In a joint investigation between Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and the National Crime Agency (NCA), the gang, who were attempting to expand their criminal network internationally, were taken down when messages from their encrypted mobile phones were infiltrated under Operation Venetic; the NCA led operation into EncroChat data. 

Today (Thursday 25 April 2024) Adrian Gonzalez has been jailed for 25 years.

Gonzalez pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to supply cocaine, MDMA and amphetamine. 

In total, the men have been jailed for almost 200 years following a meticulous investigation by GMP which experts believe is one of the largest drugs and firearms trafficking operations ever encountered in the UK.
