Making Bury safer together

The views of residents, visitors and people who work in Bury are being asked for to make sure that the borough remains one of the safest places in Greater Manchester.

The Bury Community Safety Partnership includes partner organisations across the Borough who work together to make Bury a safer place, including Bury Council, Greater Manchester Police, the local voluntary and community sector, Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Services, Probation services, health and housing services.

The Partnership is refreshing the Community Safety Strategy and Partnership Plan for the Borough, to set out the ambitions, actions and approaches to increase safety and the feeling of safety across our communities from 2025-2028.

Councillor Sandra Walmsley, Cabinet Member for Communities and Inclusion said: “Bury is already one of the safest boroughs in Greater Manchester but we can not be complacent and rest on our laurels

“Making our neighbourhoods safer is one of the most important ways that we will deliver our ambitions for the borough. It has such an important role to play in improving people’s quality of life, improved educational attainment and economic growth. Being able to feel safe when travelling around our borough or visiting the many green space, parks and recreation centres, being confident to open and run businesses and to take part in education and training are all important to our residents.

“Our aim is to build safer, stronger, more resilient communities across Bury. The most important contribution comes from listening to our communities and residents.

“Let us know which community safety matters are the most important to you, your friends and family; what makes you feel safe; and how we can work together to make the borough a safe place for all.”
