Teenage boy dies after collision - as police question woman on suspicion of drug-driving

A teenager has died after a collision with a car as police question a woman on suspicion of drug-driving.

The 15-year-old boy was seriously injured on Saturday after the collision involving a silver Ford Fiesta in New Street, Andover, Hampshire at about 6pm.

Hampshire Constabulary said the teen - described as a pedestrian - was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and has now died.

"His family are being supported by specialist officers as detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit continue to investigate the incident," a spokesman said.

"As part of our enquiries the driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old woman from Andover, has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs.

"She has been released from police custody but remains under investigation pending further enquiries."
