Plans for a huge HMO in Oldham that sparked a major backlash among neighbours have been refused by Oldham Council. Developers planned to turn the former Crompton Health Centre in Shaw into a 22-bed housing complex. 

Neighbours in Shaw, Oldham took to the streets this weekend to oppose a ‘flood of HMOs’ entering their town. Dozens of locals peacefully protested outside Shaw’s War Memorial and Lifelong Learning Centre on Sunday, April 6. 

Using a ‘man with a van’ to get rid of her waste has landed a Bury woman with a bill for £1,900.
